Apoquel is indicated for the relief of itching and inflammation caused by allergic skin disease in dogs 12 months of age or older.
Possible Side Effects The most common side effects were vomiting and diarrhea. These side effects occurred in only a small percentage of dogs treated with Apoquel and typically stopped on their own.
Drug & Food Interactions Apoquel has not been tested in dogs receiving medications commonly used to treat skin conditions such as glucocorticoids, cyclosporines, and other systemic immunosuppressive agents.
Precautions Do not use Apoquel in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel may increase the chances of developing serious infections and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. It has not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporyne. Apoquel is not for use in breeding dogs or pregnant or lactating females. Dogs taking Apoquel should be monitored for the development of infections.
