Description
Your pet must have a current heartworm test on file with your veterinarian in order to be prescribed heartworm medication. Please visit your veterinarian to have this test performed annually to protect them.
Uses Used to prevent heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.
Possible Side Effects Please contact your veterinarian if the following adverse reactions occur: depression/lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, mydriasis, ataxia, staggering, convulsions, and hypersalivation.
Precautions All pets should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment, which is not effective against adult heartworm. Infected pets must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with this medication. While some microfilariae may be killed, this medication is not effective for microfilariae clearance. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.
